廁所是大家覺得尷尬的話題，可又是每個人不可避免且必須每天都光顧的地方，我們除了說WC, toilet外，或在公廁看到Gents, Ladies, Men's room, Women's room外，在英語世界里，土話都怎么來表達廁所呢？

Lavatory 是一個最普通和正式的表達方式，在飛機上經常看到。在非正式英語中，住宅中的廁所也可以用
cloakroom住宅樓下附加的廁所。
Loo 英式英語，俚語詞，可能來自Waterloo,抽水馬桶品牌，或直接來自擬聲詞，抽水馬桶沖水聲。
WC 是water closet的首字母縮寫，常備用于指公共廁所。尤用于公共廁所的標記。
Toilet 英國英語，非北美英語中常用。
