英語的順口溜及其翻譯…【英語順口溜_英語的順口溜及其翻譯…】何謂“順口溜”，按照《現代漢語詞典》的解釋，是指“民間流行的一種口頭韻文，句子長短不齊，純用口語，念起來很順口。”我們以為把當代流行的這種語言現象稱作“民謠”可能更為貼切一些。所謂“民謠”，即“民間歌謠，多與時事政治有關” 。如此稱說，有如下理由：
一是它來自民間，又在民間廣為流傳，實乃“民”之家族成員；
二是現今的這些“順口溜”主要是反映諷刺社會的諸多不良現象，多與時事有關，在褒貶意義上有鮮明的傾向性，與“民謠”定義相吻合。
所不同之處突出在一“新”字上。由于這類民謠主要是二十世紀八十年代以來出現的現象，是伴著中國改革開放而興起，是新時期的“語言產物”，且方式上有其獨特性——人們只是口頭說講，而不以音樂的形式唱誦——因此，我們冠以一“新”字，謂之“新民謠”，以示區別傳統民謠。
當代中國“新民謠”所以如此“發達” ，除了深刻的社會原因之外，其載體——語言——形式的特點也是“功”不可沒的。從上述所舉的眾多例證來看，新民謠都具有一個共同的特點：易于上口，悅耳響亮，好念好記，且幽默詼諧，生動形象。正因為如此，新民謠傳播起來快速、廣泛。從語言運用的角度來看，新民謠從語音、語法到修辭都表現出一套完善的系統特色。
